#82 Mish Wright | Writer, Fitness Educator and Speaker

After a decade of teaching, Mish Wright started her second career as a Group Fit Instructor and Personal Trainer. Mish is the founder of the multi-award-winning fitness business franchise mishfit®, which specialised in training women.

Sadly, it’s a fact that all education that fitness professionals undertake is based on the
research of young fit men. Mish is passionate about educating everyone in the fitness
industry in what she calls the “missing education” of women’s health. Mish has created
EVEolution™ an online program to help women navigate exercise – no matter what age or
stage they are at. Mish doesn’t shy away from issues women may face while exercising,
including prolapse and pelvic floor weakness, periods, and perimenopause.

For over 12 years Mish has been writing, presenting, educating, and mentoring fitness
professionals in business, women’s health, and training older adults. Mish created the
Women’s Health and Fitness Summit (2014 – 2019) that brought together Fit Pro’s and Allied Health professionals to start relationships and conversations that are still resonating today.

Mish currently writes online education for Central Queensland University, Fitness Education
Online (Australia), EAT fitness (New Zealand), FITM (Malaysia) and Fit Asia (Singapore). She
has also re-written all the instructor education for the COTA (Council On The Ageing) for
their Living Longer Living Stronger program and the women’s health education for Curves
Australia and New Zealand.

In 2021, Mish was awarded the AUSactive (formerly Fitness Australia) Educator of the Year
award. Mish is a kiwi but lives with her husband and their two pussycats in Melbourne on the land of the Wurundgeri people, Australia.

Please welcome Mish to The Good Girl Confessional, and join us as she chats with host Sandy Lowres.

As an avid writer, Mish contributes articles to many online and print publications. She is also regularly invited to speak at fitness conventions and business events. She has created many independent courses in both women’s health and business. Her own personal journey led her from teaching (B.Ed and Dip Teach) to the fitness industry, first as a group fitness instructor/personal trainer and then creating and running the award winning fitness franchise, mishfit®. She created the Women’s Health & Fitness Summit in 2014 and grew it to be a two-day event held at beautiful venues such as Crown, RACV and The Grand Hyatt. This event hosted the most revered and respected women’s health and fitness presenters and trainers from around the world and was attended by hundreds of women. Many returning every year. As part of the Women’s Health and Fitness Summit she had created The Platform. The Platform is a mentoring program and provided new and aspiring presenters an opportunity to present on the main stage. An opportunity all too often denied to female presenters. Currently she is working as the Living Longer Living Stronger Coordinator for COTA Victoria. This is a strength and balance training program developed for older adults. She has redeveloped all the Instructor training for Living Longer Living Stronger and due to the CORONA virus pandemic converted the training to an online platform. She also write education for Central Queensland University around women’s health. Click here to see the topics currently available. She lives in her eco-apartment in Brunswick with her husband, Mark and her two cats Olive and Sugar. Her four children have grown and are making their own way in the world. Mish loves travelling and spends time each year (pandemic allowing) in the far North of New Zealand where her whanau live. Her love language is cooking, and she always has a good bottle of champagne chilled.
