From listening on your daily walk, or drowning out the noise at work, (or in your home office), women are starting to embrace Podcasts rather than music playlists. Download an app from your favourite audio streaming service directly to your mobile phone (i.e. Spotify or Apple Podcasts), pop in your earphones, or connect to a bluetooth device and away you go. Are you time poor? The good news is you can start and stop a podcast as you please. Podcasts are basically radio shows on the internet, often pre-recorded and edited. Some are on going serial-style podcasts and some are unique, interview style episodes.
So why should you jump on board the podcast train? According to PodcastInsights.com, approximately 42 million Americans over the age of twelve currently listen to podcasts on a weekly basis. Continuing to grow in popularity in Australia, it’s reported that over 1.6 million Aussies are tuning into Podcasts, in both audio and video formats each week.
While WB40’s own podcast The Good Girl Confessional Podcast is a platform for celebrating the hard-won wisdom of women beyond forty, Podcasts can be found on almost any topic – Feminism, business, fashion, true crime, comedy, wine, tech, parenting and everything else in between. We love that female podcasters are on the rise!
Here’s 9 fab Podcasts we’re absolutely loving right now, hosted by amazing women.
