TW: This episode contains conversations about alcohol abuse, alcoholism
Today in the Confessional, I am honoured to be chatting with the gorgeous writer and fellow podcaster Jo Pybus. We’ll be talking about Jo’s powerful article that was published nationally this week about her experience of being raised by an alcoholic mother. Jo’s courage to share this very personal story has resonated with so many people.
Jo’s article, titled “I didn’t want to demonise my alcoholic mother in her eulogy – but I wasn’t going to lie either” was published in the @sydneymorningherald and @sundaylifeau and is a powerful read.
As many are considering giving up alcohol for Dry July Foundation Jo explores the concept of what legacy we might be leaving behind. Is our alcohol use impacting our kids and those around us?
Jo is a writer and menopause advocate, and is also my fellow host over at Alex the Seal Podcast– a fun and nostalgic podcast about the music of the 70s and 80s – the music that got us Hooked up, Knocked up and Broken up.
