WB40 – Women Beyond Forty is the brainchild of Founder Sandy Lowres. Women Beyond Forty is more than a magazine, more than a Podcast, more than a website. It is a philosophy that all women beyond forty have incredible hard-won wisdom and have much to offer the world. We want to build a community of like-minded women. Women who want to see more empathy and compassion in the world. Women that want to see other women in the sisterhood rise. Women who want to help make the world we live in a better place for future generations. We aim to make this an inclusive and diverse space and in collaborating with a wide range of women – both those who tell their stories and those that share with us through their writing, editing and creative skills – we hope that others will be encouraged to share of themselves too. We acknowledge that without the generosity, support, love and advice of many women, WB40 would not have been launched.
The Platform
WB40 is a platform dedicated to promoting the vibrancy, bravery and brilliance of women over forty. Women supporting other women is at the core of all that we do. We seek to raise and promote the profiles of women as they inspire, encourage and lift future generations. We want the authentic voices of the sisterhood to lift, understanding that the diversity of knowledge, experiences and thinking from the global female community is vital for the world to thrive. Through our Magazine and our podcast, we aim to showcase the stories of women. Not all the women featured in the magazine or on the podcast will be well known, but each of them will have a fascinating story of her own to share. To this end, some of our features will be longer than other magazines, but the content will be unique and valuable. Every woman has a story. Every voice should be heard. Let’s build a nurturing community that celebrates women.
The Magazine
This is a magazine where ideas can be discussed and conversations started. The women who write here, or are featured, have generously shared their stories.
For our Founder and Creative Director, it has been a labour of love.
This magazine is founded in Melbourne, Australia, and we wish to acknowledge the traditional owners of this ancient land, the Wurundjeri peoples – past, present and future. We recognise this to be one of the oldest cultures in the world, and a culture that honors the power of storytelling.
WB40 is an inclusive space – we welcome your diversity, uniqueness and brilliance.
